The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is the largest book festival in the United States of America. The festival will be held April 22-23 2017 at USC and feature celebrities, famous authors, music, film, comic books, cooking demos and more. We (Kristen Palana and I) want to bring Lori Leak there, too!

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is a wonderful weekend. It began in 1996 with a simple goal: to bring together the people who create books with the people who love to read them. ( began attending in 2000 with a friend when it was still at the UCLA campus. The festival was an immediate success from the beginning and grows every year!

It has evolved to include live bands, poetry readings, chef demos, cultural entertainment and artists creating their work on-site. There’s also a photography exhibit, film screenings followed by Q&A’s and discussion panels on some of today’s hottest topics.

I have sat in the presence of Gore Vidal, Tavis Smiley, Carol Burnett, Carl Reiner, the members of Monty Python, Amy Tan, Stephen J. Cannell, Ray Bradbury, and so many notable journalists and gotten to ask them questions as well as listen to their insight.

We hope to have a booth at the festival so we have launched a crowdfunding campaign, “Lori Leak’s Los Angeles Times Festival of Books Adventure” and hope you will contribute to it so we can bring Lori Leak to the fair!

We also hope you will be able to attend. We have created an event and if people would like to ´make a special gathering time there on the USC campus, we will arrange it!
